Dermot Kennedy has released the stunning music video for his song “For Island Fires and Family.” The track comes from the Irish singer/songwriter’s debut self-titled record released on January 4th, 2019.
Ireland’s Inis Mór serves as the breathtaking backdrop for the music video, and parallels the track’s lyrical representation of love and loss as the camera pans the extremes highs and lows of the coast. The black and white flashes and scenes of wild crashing waves formulate a truly idyllic setting that visually captures the dynamic lyrics in line with the stirring melody.
“I’m so so excited and proud to share with you the ‘For Island Fires and Family’ video,” Kennedy wrote. “We filmed this on the island of Inis Mór not too long ago. It’s such a special place to me and so this one means an awful lot. I hope you like it.”
